Different Backgrounds but Common Factor Unites in Flushing

A total of 13 coaches, including two women, are currently attending an ITTF/PTT Level One Coaches Course at the Chinese Community Center of Flushing in New York.

Proceedings started on Monday 5th August 2013.

The course is self-sufficient and is being conducted by Sydney Christophe.

Notably former United States internationals, Shao Yu and Ivan Quek, who manage the New York Indoor Sports Club, which is located a short distance from the venue for the course, are present.

Attendance
“Also present is Ehdu Hazan and Terrance Carney from the New York City Educational System”, explained Sydney Christophe. “Carlos Guiterrez from Columbia is attending as is Luis Checa a Tenis Pro and Tommy Shing, a Real Estate agent and coach of the New York International Table Tennis Centre located in Flushing.”

A wide range of backgrounds and there is more as Sydney Christophe explains.

Completing Line-Up
“Completing the line-up are Peter Jaworowski and Jahn Klemendorf originally from Poland, Nevin Atef a former National female player from Eygpt plus Howard Sang and Christine Yeung from the Chinese Community Center and Gordon Ho of Spin Club ,New York”, continued Sydney Christophe.

Different backgrounds but all are united by the sport of table tennis and motivated as is Howard Sang.

Commitment
“Howard Sang, the Executive Director of Chinese Community Center of Flushing and the local organizing coach in his opening remarks on Monday expressed his club’s commitment to the growth and development of the sport by way of education for the coaches”, explained Sydney Christophe. “He said that he was excited host the course and hopes that all the participants including himself will try to grasp as much knowledge and experience during the week so as to assist with not only their development but the uplift of their respective clubs and communities.

Course Concludes
The course will conclude on Sunday 11th August 11th 2013.
