The home in 2004 for the ITTF Junior Circuit Finals and ITTF Cadet Challenge, Funchal once again welcomes rising young stars in 2012.
Situated on the picturesque Atlantic island of Madeira off the west coast of Portugal, the Funchal Junior Open will be staged from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 8th September.
In recent years Madeira has gained an outstanding reputation for promoting table tennis, the island's most successful player being Marcos Freitas, now a vital member of a powerful Portuguese men’s team. He progressed through the island’s coaching scheme and the ITTF Global Junior Programme; an opportunity for others to follow suit awaits.
ITTF Global Junior Circuit Event The 2012 Funchal Junior and Cadet Open will feature singles and team events in the junior and cadet categories.
Madeira Open As every year, the Madeira Open will follow the Funchal Junior & Cadet Open.
In 2012 the whole tournament will be staged on one day, Sunday 9th September.
Prize Fund The Organizing Committee offers a prize fund of US$ 4,000 USD with no tax deductions.
Maximum Number of Entries A maximum of 120 entries is accepted.
Deadlines Preliminary entry forms should be returned by Wednesday 8th August 2012 with final entry forms returned by Wednesday 22nd August 2012.
