Gerrit Engemann Reigns Supreme in Bratislava, Nolwenn Fort Excels Expectations

Germany’s Gerrit Engemann and Nolwenn Fort of France won the respective Boys’ Singles and Girls’ Singles titles at the 2013 Slovak Cadet Open in Bratislava on Sunday 3rd November.

The success recorded by Gerrit Engemann was not unexpected; he was the third seed.

Furthermore, he completed the tournament as the most successful player. Earlier in the week he had remained unbeaten in the Boys’ Team event in partnership with Jannick Xu guiding Germany to gold, before on the final day completing a full house of available titles. ....

Authority Stamped on Proceedings, Both Team Titles Secured by Germany in Bratislava

Germany, the top seeds, clinched gold in both the Boys’ Team and Girls’ Team events at the 2013 Slovak Cadet Open in Bratislava on Saturday 2nd November.

Represented by Jannik Xu and Gerritt Engemann, the German Boys’ Team secured the top prize in a most authoritative style; they did not concede one individual match throughout the whole tournament.

Every result was a three matches to nil victory, with the Russia ‘B’ Team outfit formed by Ilya Isakov and Anton Kotov being the victims at the semi-final stage and the second seeded Polish team comprising Aleksander Werecki and Kamil Naepa the duo to feel the axe in the final.....

Top Two Book Penultimate Round Spots but No Places for Third and Fourth Seeds

The top two seeds in both the Boys’ Team and Girls’ Team events at the Slovak Cadet Open in Bratislava duly booked their places in the penultimate round of proceedings following success on Friday 1st November 2013.

At the quarter-final stage of the Boys’ Team event, Germany ‘A’, the no.1 seeds with Gerrit Engemann and Jannik Xu on duty posted a three-nil win against their colleague Germany ‘C’, who fielded the partnership of Nils Schulze and Meng Fanbo.

Similarly, Poland, the no.2 seeds, proved most impressive in their quarter-final Boys’ Team duel; the partnership of Kamil Nalepa and Aleksandar Werecki showed no mercy. ....

Gender Equality in Bratislava, Equal Number of Teams in Slovak Cadet Event

No less than 52 outfits will be on duty in the team events, which light the torch for the action at the forthcoming Slovak Cadet Open, an ITTF Junior Circuit tournament which commences in the country’s capital city of Bratislava on Friday 1st November 2013.

Furthermore, it is gender equality.

There are 26 teams in each of the Boys’ Team and Girls’ Team competitions; overall 56 boys and 57 girls have enrolled in the three day tournament.

Predominantly European nations are on duty, the one exception being the Canadian duo of Justina Yeung and Jane Yan. ....

Tibor Spanik and Katerina Belopotocanova lead the host nation’s challenge for honours at the forthcoming Slovak Cadet Open which starts in Bratislava on Friday 1st November 2013.

However, both will face testing opponents in a tournament that has attracted a large entry; in particular, countries from Europe seizing the opportunity to compete and blood new talents.

Is there a player, making an international debut who play in Tokyo in 2020 at the Olympic Games? I wonder.....

Ideally Located, Bratislava, the Home for the Slovak Cadet Open

Located in the south west of the country, Bratislava is the home for the forthcoming Slovak Cadet Open; a three day event, proceedings commence of Friday 1st and conclude on Sunday 3rd November 2013.

The tournament immediately precedes the Hungarian Junior and Cadet Open, an ITTF Premium Junior Circuit, which starts on Wednesday 6th November 2013; thus there is an opportunity for players in the cadet age group to compete in two consecutive events located in close proximity.

Bratislava borders both Austria and Hungary; whilst also being very close to the border of the Czech Republic. The city is easily accessible by road and possesses a local airport with the international airport in Vienna being only 60 kilometres distant.....
