In the contest that closed the curtain, Hector Berrios beat Isaac Vila at the semi-final stage of the Men’s Singles event (10-12, 6-11, 11-2, 8-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9) prior to clinching the title at the final expense of Emil Santos (11-7, 11-7, 6-11, 8-11, 13-11, 11-8).
Hard fought full distance duels, it was the same in the penultimate round for Emil Santos. He needed seven games to overcome Samuel Galvez (9-11, 11-9, 14-16, 11-8, 11-3, 10-12, 11-6).
Success for Emil Santos
Defeat in the final of the Men’s Singles event for Emil Santos but not in the Men’s Doubles nor Mixed Doubles competitions; in the former he partnered Samuel Galvez to success in the latter Eva Brito.
In the title deciding contest in the former, the duo accounted for Hector Berrios and Gustavo Gonzalez; in the latter Hector Berrios and Carelyn Cordero (11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 11-4).
Impressive performances
Silver medals for Puerto Rico in the Women’s Singles event, it was bronze as Eva Brito secured a full house of available titles.
She beat Carelyn Cordero at the semi-final stage of the Women’s Singles event (11-4, 11-6, 11-13, 11-7, 11-9), before overcoming Yasiris Ortiz to claim the title (11-6, 11-4, 5-11, 11-4, 11-9).
A close defeat for Yasiris Ortiz; at the semi-final stage it had been close win; she accounted for Esmerlyn Castro by the narrowest of decisions (11-5, 9-11, 8-11, 11-2, 11-6, 4-11, 11-9).
More titles
Victory over Yasiris Ortiz in the final of the Women’s Singles event, it was the same in the Under 21 Women’s Singles competition, a five games win being the end result (8-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8, 11-3).
Gold in opposition to Yasiris Ortiz; in partnership with her adversary there was success; the duo won the Women’s Doubles event beating Puerto Rico’s Carelyn Cordero and Paola Sanabria in the final (9-11, 11-6, 12-10, 7-11, 11-8).

Isaac Vila beat Mariano Lockward (11-4, 11-9, 11-2, 11-4) to win the Under 21 Men’s Singles title, whilst Rafael Valoy secured Men’s Singles 40 to 49 years category and Leyester Florimon clinhed the Men’s Singles 50 plus class.
At the final hurdle Rafael Valoy accounted for Dominican Republic colleague, Reinaldo Moronta (11-9, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8); Leyester Florimon defeated Trinidadand Tobago’s David Mahabir (10-12, 10-12, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8).
