Jilin had the home-court advantage in the second round of proceedings of the Women’s Chinese Super League. They were able to use it well. They started off with a powerful performance from Wang Manyu who defeated Feng Yalan in four games.
Liu Shiwen levelled her team Anxin in 1-1 when she crushed Yuan Xuejiao in the second match. After which, the guests had their momentum after their tandem Zhang Rui and Liu Gaoyang got the Doubles.
Liu Shiwen was supposed to end the battle in the fourth match against Wang Manyu. She got a 2-0 advantage. However, the 17-year old Wang battled it out in the third game, making her recovery. At the end, Wang Manyu overcame Liu Shiwen in an impressive score of 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 7-1.
It was a great effort from Wang Manyu but their last player Liu Fei failed to supplement the necessary points for overall victory. Zhang Rui got the decider with a crushing performance of 2-0.
Anxin upset the host’s crowd and achieved their second victory this season.
While Anxin had troubles in the round, Beijing and Ordos posted powerful performances. Beijing swept Sichuan while Ordos imposed authority over Shanxi.
It is worth mentioning that Miu Hirano just posted her first victory this season. She accounted for Che Xiaoxi of Shanxi in 10-12, 11-8, 11-7, 11-8 today.
More challenging battles were recorded in the second round of proceedings. Shandong Luneng also played five matches against the hosts Bayi. Despite Zhu Yuling’s efforts, Luneng lost.
The last winning team for today is the Shandong Jilu Team. Wen Jia was the saviour for today. She posted an impressive recovery in the decider against Wang Yidi. She scored 8-11, 12-10, 7-3, sealing the victory for Jilu.
