Bayi and Shandong Qilu both presented themselves as strong teams in this season’s Chinese Super League. They were undefeated in the first four rounds of the competition. But lately, inconsistencies were posted, resulting to defeat in the previous round.
The competition of the women’s division continued with its sixth round on 2nd November.
Shandong Qilu was not in a very good condition. They played against the hosts of Anxin. Feng Yalan, Liu Shiwen and Liu Gaoyang worked altogether to seal a powerful victory. It is worth noting that Liu Shiwen posted a hard-earned win against Chen Xingtong. Liu Shiwen was behind in 0-2 before she posted a great comeback.
Liu Shiwen won the second match in 3-2 (6-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 7-4). This contributed to Anxin’s sweeping success.
Bayi Team also encountered some challenges in the round. Although they had the home-court advantage against Beijing, they didn’t have a good start.
Beijing’s Sheng Dandan and Ding Ning sealed back-to-back sweep victories, leading their team to a strong head start.
Bayi used their opportunities well in the Doubles after their tandem Sun Mingyang and Liu Xin sealed it with in 2-0.
The fourth match was between Bayi’s Mu Zi and Ding Ning of Beijing. Ding Ning started with a strong performance in 11-3. However, she failed to maintain the control in the subsequent games. Ding Ning was defeated by Mu Zi in 1-3 (11-3, 7-11, 8-11, 6-11).
The battle eventually led to a decider. It was a close encounter between Hu Limei and Li Jiayuan. After three games, Hu Limei completed the victory for Bayi.
Another tough battle was recorded in the sixth round of the competition. It was between Shanxi and Jilin. The latter hoped to upset the home crowd, posting a lead in 2-1. However, they failed after five matches. Shanxi sealed their victory in 3-2.
Meanwhile, Shandong Luneng played very well in the round. They played as hosts against Ordos. The opening match was between Zhu Yuling and Miu Hirano. The Japanese foreign aide gave her all in the match and forced the Chinese player of Luneng into the decider. But after a close encounter, Zhu Yuling prevailed (9-11, 11-2, 10-12, 11-9, 7-5).
In the next two matches, Shandong Luneng showed authority, sealing two sweep victories.
Shenzhen completes the list of victorious teams in the round. Chen Meng and company sealed a 3-0 win against Sichuan.
