Ding Ning was beaten by Zhu Yuling in the seventh round of the Women’s Chinese Super League, in three straight games (11-9, 11-8, 11-3).
Both Beijing and Shandong Luneng were tied in the team ranking with four wins and two losses before the the latest round of the competition. However, after a three-nil victory from Shandong Luneng, they are now ahead of Beijing in the latest team positions.
The Shandong Luneng trio of Zhu Yuling, Li Xiaodan and Gu Yuting all worked hard to upset the Beijing crowd.
In another match, Miu Hirano was given a big responsibility by her Ordos Team in the seventh round against the guests from Anxin. She played in two singles matches.
Miu Hirano lost the opening match against Liu Shiwen. The reigning Women’s World Cup champion didn’t have many opportunities as she was beaten by Liu Shiwen in straight games (11-9, 11-5, 11-7).
However in the fourth match against Feng Yalan, Miu Hirano found her momentum and established a two-nil lead. She sealed victory in style (12-10, 11-9, 11-7).
Unfortunately for the host team, Zhang Qiang failed against Liu Gaoyang. Ordos lost while Anxin achieved another victory.
Another upset was recorded in the seventh round of the competition. The visitor from Shenzhen overcame the hosting team of Jilin three-one. Credit goes to Chen Meng and Wang Yidi who both contributed the necessary points to victory.
Meanwhile, after posting two consecutive defeats, Shandong Qilu finally broke the losing streak; this time, in their own court, Wu Yang, Chen Xingtong and Wen Jia, all worked together to complete a powerful victory against Sichuan.
Lastly, the Bayi Team remained undefeated in the competition. They posted their sixth victory; their battle against Shanxi started badly but they recovered. Hu Limei survived the opening match; after which, Mu Zi, Sun Mingyang, and Liu Xin supplemented the necessary points for their win.
