Visitors, the Beijing Women’s Team proved victorious against Shanxi in the eighth round of the Women’s Chinese Super League scheduled.
For this round, the team had an interesting line-up. They arranged the 2016 Olympic champion Ding Ning to perform as the third player. She paired up with Li Jiayuan for the doubles.
Their tandem lost in in three games (8-11, 11-7, 7-2).
Fortunately, Sheng Dandan took over the responsibility and scored two victories in the round. She won the opening match against Jiang Yue and achieved another sweeping victory in the fourth match against Che Xiaoxi.
Following a defeat in the previous round, Beijing posted a victory this time with their team leader Ding Ning taking the back seat.
Meanwhile, Zhu Yuling continued to deliver the goods for the Shandong Luneng Team. She scored two winning points in the round against Anxin. Liu Shiwen and company played with home advantage but such opportunity was not enough for them to post a victory.
Liu Shiwen seemed not to be in a good condition for the battle. She struggled against Gu Ruochen in the second match with 3-2 (6-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9, 8-6). In the fourth match, she was comprehensively beaten by Zhu Yuling (11-6, 11-7, 11-9).
Shandong Luneng upset Anxin’s crowd in three-one.
The Bayi Team was challenged by the hosting team Shenzhen in the latest round of the competition. Chen Meng contributed two points for Shenzhen. She won the first match against Liu Xi in straight games, after which, she defeated Mu Zi in the fourth match, forcing a decider against Bayi.
However, Chen Meng’s efforts did not pay off, after her teammate Sun Yingsha was defeated by Hu Limei. Bayi recorded their seventh victory this season after a close encounter.
Shandong Qilu was also victorious. Wu Yang, Chen Xingtong, and Wen Jia defeated their opponents from Jilin in three-one.
The most powerful performance in the round came from the Ordos Team who played as guests against Sichuan. Miu Hirano started off with a straight games victory against Guo Yan. In the subsequent matches, Ordos maintained a crushing performance.
