Ding Ning has been impressive, she is in second place in the individual ranking after nine rounds of battle. She posted twelve wins and five losses. However, Liu Shiwen has experienced some difficulties this season. The leading player in the Anxin Team, she is in fifth place, five losses and 12 wins.
The person who has really established herself as a superpower this season is Zhu Yuling. She represents the Shandong Luneng Team. She boasts 15 wins and just one loss. The person responsible for her defeat was Che Xiaoxi of Shanxi in the third round.
Aside from these elite names, there were also some relatively new players who have shown a promising performances.
Wang Manyu is definitely one of them after she recorded victories against world title holders Ding Ning, Liu Shiwen, and Miu Hirano.
The 17-year old representing Jilin surprised the Rio 2016 Olympic Singles champion Ding Ning in the fourth round (11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10). Earlier in the competition, she recovered to beat Liu Shiwen in a five game duel (9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 7-1). In the latest round, Wang Many beat Miu Hirano in straight games (11-8, 11-8, 11-9).
Wang Manyu is at seventh place with 11 wins and four losses.
Hu Limei is also worth recognising. At aged 21 years, she has already shown a high degree of mental strength. On three occasions, Hu Limei has saved the Bayi Team against the strong teams Shandong Luneng, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
Recording six wins and two losses, Hu Limei is at eighth place and her contribution has led to Bayi’s success. Her team is at the top with seven wins and two losses.
Chen Meng, Wu Yang, Mu Zi, Che Xiaoxi and Wen Jia complete the top ten players in the Women’s division. Competition will resume with its tenth round on Sunday 20th November.
