Home for an Olympic Solidarity supported Developing a National Sports Structure course organised under the auspices of the ITTF Development Programme, recently the Solomon Islands awarded ITTF/PTT Level One certificates to six coaches.

The presentations were on Saturday 14th January by Aldrin Bekala, President of the Solomon Islands Table Tennis Association at a Para tournament staged in a local multi-purpose hall.

Now charged with the task of promoting table tennis throughout the archipelago are the successful students: Gary Nuopula, Andrew Tuhaika and George Kai alongside Hency Charles, Samson Kakadi and Standley Zyntanjah.

A step forward and very much the result of the efforts made by Pakistan’s Arif Khan; he had been the course conductor throughout the Developing a National Sports Structure initiative, the itinerary having been administered in two distinct parts.

Initially, Arif Khan had visited from Tuesday 10th May to Sunday 12th June; he returned to conclude matters, being present from Saturday 27th August to Monday 16th September.

Overall the Solomon Islands now has eight certified ITTF/PTT Level One coaches.
