A total of 11 sports appear on the proposed itinerary with table tennis being prominent and, as at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, set to be one of the most popular disciplines.
In addition to table tennis, the sports listed are: archery, athletics, boccia, football 5-a-side, football 7-a-side, goalball, judo, sailing, sitting volleyball and swimming.
The tournament falls very much in line with the policies being followed in Para Table Tennis events; in 2016 youth events for players under 23 years of age were introduced. Most certainly the innovation was well received.
It is that age limit on which the table tennis events at the 2017 European Para Youth Games are being held; thus in order to compete a player must be born on or after Saturday 1st January 1994.
However, there is a younger age limit; in order to compete a player must be at least 12 years of age.
Further details are awaited but for both men and women, individual and team events are envisaged.
