Preparation has been fierce for the Czech squad ahead of the tournament, with the team undergoing intensive training in Prague, Ostrava and Vlasim.
Reflecting on the last three weeks of training, Linda Zaderova admits that she is feeling slightly fatigued but is confident that she is fully prepared for the trip to Portugal.
“It’s very challenging. We train twice, sometimes three times a day. Fortunately, we do not have much physical work, so that training doesn’t take too much of a toll on the body, but I do feel overall fatigue. Sometimes at the end of a two hour workout I do not give such a good performance. However, I believe that I’m definitely ready for the European Championships”, Linda Zaderova.
Czech Republic has been placed in Group D of the Cadet Girls’ Team event competing against Germany, England and Greece in the group stage of the competition.
Following the conclusion of the four team categories will be action from the singles events, and Linda Zaderova is hoping to enjoy a positive campaign in Guimarães.
“I do not know what to expect, but I believe it will be a great event and I go to Portugal giving my maximum”, Linda Zaderova.
Commencing on Friday 14th July, the Stag 2017 European Youth Championships closes out just over a week later on Sunday 23rd July.
