A 17-12 success was posted against Team Rossi; Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Paul Drinkhall and Liu Dingshuo represented the men’s contingent; for the women it was Georgina Pota, Cheng I-Ching and Elizabeta Samara. The most impressive performance being that of Liu Fei who recorded a five-nil win in opposition to Elizabeta Samara.
Victory by an impressive margin to commence matters; it was the same in the next fixture; Team JJ posted a 16-12 win when facing Team Persson, the selection being Mattias Karlsson, Jun Mizutani and Joo Saehyuk, the female representation comprised Shi Xunyao, Suthasini Sawettabut and Jeon Jihee. Stars of the show were Chuang Chih-Yuan and Liu Fei; Chuang Chih-Yuan recorded a five-nil win against Jun Mizutani, somewhat similarly Liu Fei posted a four-nil win in opposition to Suthasini Sawettabut.
Two wins for Team JJ but against the Team Maze selection of Alexander Shibaev, Timo Boll and Chien-An who allied with Miyuu Kihara, Yang Haeun and Feng Tianwei, it was a 15-13 defeat; the players to impress for Team Maze were Alexander Shibaev and Feng Tianwei. Impressively, Alexander Shibaev beat Vladimir Samsonov four-one; Feng Tianwei secured the same margin of victory in opposition to Jeon Jihee.
Two wins for Team JJ, it was the same for Team Persson. Defeat at the hands of Team JJ but it was success in opposition to Team Maze and when facing Team Rossi; against the former it was a 14-12 success, when facing the latter a commanding 20-10 victory.
Against Team Maze, Suthasini Sawettabut and Joo Saehyuk were the players to shine; Suthasini Sawettabut beat Yang Haeun four-nil, Joo Saehyuk did likewise when opposing Alexander Shibaev. Later against Team Rossi, Jun Miztani, Suthasini Sawettabut, Joo Saehyuk and Bernadette Szocs all recorded impressive wins.
Jun Mizutani beat Liu Dingshuo four-one, the same result as Suthasini Sawettabut recorded against Elizabeta Samara; similarly Joo Saehyuk secured a three-two win against Paul Drinkhall, Bernadette Szocs beat Georina Pota three-two.
In the one remaining fixture, Team Rossi recorded a 17-11 win against Team Maze. Notably for the victors Dimitrij Ovtcharov accounted for Alexander Shibaev four-one, Liu Dingshuo recorded the same margin of victory when facing Chen Chien-An.
Additionally Georgina Pota posted a three-one win against Miyuu Kihara as did Cheng I-Ching when facing Yang Haeun.
The fifth round of fixtures will be played between Tuesday 3rd and Saturday 7th October.
