In the Under 11 Boys’ Singles latter stages, at the quarter-final stage he accounted for Puerto Rico’s Derek Valentin by the very narrowest of five game margins (11-7, 6-11, 8-11, 11-9, 12-10), prior to overcoming Mexico’s Jorge Buenrostro (11-3, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4) and the Dominican Republic’s Ramon Vila (9-11, 11-3, 11-9, 11-8) to secure the top prize.

A close call for Leonardo Iizuka in the round of the last eight; life for Ramon Vila was much less dramatic. At the quarter-final stage he overcame Ecuador’s Henry Ibarra (11-2, 7-11, 11-5, 11-9); one round later he ended the hopes of Guilherme Marchiori (4-11, 11-3, 12-10, 11-6).

The top prize in the Under 11 Boys’ Singles event; one hour earlier for Leonardo Iizuka it had been the same outcome in the Under 11 Boys’ Doubles final. Partnering Guilherme Marchiori, the duo beat Ecuador’s Esteban Alban and Joshua Robayo (18-16, 10-12, 11-4, 11-5) to seal the top prize.

Gold for Brazil, in the Under 11 Girls’ Singles event, there was a further medal of that colour. Beatriz Kanashiro emerged successful accounting Ecuador’s Angelica Arellano (11-5, 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5) at the final hurdle.

Earlier in the latter stages, Beatriz Kanashiro had caused Ecuador more pain by beating Maria José Borja (13-11, 10-12, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9) at the quarter-final stage, before securing her place in the final courtesy of success in opposition to colleague Karina Shiray (7-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-5).

Impressively, in the adjacent half of the draw, in the latter rounds, Angelica Arellano had accounted for Peru’s Valentina Zea (11-9, 11-9, 11-5), before overcoming Puerto Rico’s Kristal Melendez (11-5, 11-9, 3-11, 11-3) to reserve her place in the final.

Runners up spot for Angelica Arellano; it was the same in the Under 11 Girls’ Doubles competition; at the final hurdle, the duo experienced defeat at the hands of Peru’s Alheli Llufire and Ana Paula Yenobi by the very narrowest of five game margins (5-11, 11-5, 12-10, 3-11, 12-10).
