Notably for the Turks, it was their only defeat; thus second position and a semi-final berth was reserved.
First place and unbeaten for Alexandre Delarque and Nicolas Savant-Aira, it was the same for the top seeded German duo of Valentin Baus and Jan Guertler. They duly completed their group unscathed with the Serbian combination of Mitar Palikuca, Miroslav Homa and Milan Zelen in second place.
One surprise first place in the Men’s Team wheelchair categories and there was one more; the Czech Republic’s Jiri Suchanek and Martin Zvolanek continued their good form to reserve pole position. Surprise two-one winners the previous day against the top seeded French outfit formed by Fabien Lamirault, Stéphane Molliens and Vincent Boury, they completed their first phase itinerary with a two-one win in opposition to Italy’s Federico Crosara and Giuseppe Vella.
In the counterpart group, Slovakia’s Jan Riapos and Martin Ludrovsky, the no.2 seeds, duly remained unbeaten to reserve first place.
Meanwhile, in the one remaining Men’s Team wheelchair initial phase event to be concluded on the fifth day of action; the top seeds prevailed.
In Class 4, Turkey’s Abdullah Ozturk and Nesim Turan finished in first position in their group as in the counterpart group did the French combination of Maxime Thomas, Florian Merrien and Alan René Papirer.
Play in the Men’s Team events continues on Tuesday 3rd October.
