Making the trip to face the Hungarian club are defending champions TTC Berlin Eastside and Szekszard coach Gyorgy Szily is aware of the challenge that awaits his team.
“We are facing four times Champions League winners Berlin Eastside, that will definitely be a big challenge!” Gyorgy Szily
Szekszard reached the last eight of the competition by the narrowest of margins, securing the runner up spot in Group C thanks to a superior head-to-head games ratio over ALCL TT Grand-Quevilly.
Now Szekszard will play host to Group D winners Berlin with Hungarian hero Georgina Pota expected to be in attendance for the visitors.
Excited to see Pota compete in front of the Hungarian crowd, Gyorgy Szily is hoping that Szekszard can deliver a strong performance for the home fans and believes that his players can rise to the occasion.
“Meeting with Georgina Pota’s team is motivating us and we are really glad to greet her and Berlin at Szekszard. We really endeavour to meet that challenge and try to entertain spectators playing first class table tennis in the quarter-finals.” Gyorgy Szily
The first leg of the quarter-finals tie between Szekszard AC and TTC Berlin Eastside will commence at 18:00 local time.
