A member of the Australian team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Heming Hu will be making his second appearance in the Commonwealth Games; he competed in Glasgow in 2014.
“This will be my second Commonwealth Games and the feeling is always amazing to represent your country at big multi-sport events like the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. I feel good and ready for the Games. The target for Australia is to win medals.” Heming Hu
Always Heming Hu adopts a positive approach but with the likes of England, India, Nigeria and Singapore on duty, all able to field players who have enjoyed success on either the ITTF World Tour or ITTF Challenge Series, it is a tough task for Australia.
“I would have to say the favourites at the Games are the players from England, India, Nigeria and Singapore but I will be looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd who will be cheering us on.” Heming Hu
It is tough assignment but Heming Hu never shirks a challenge.
“To make the team was a stressful process where everybody in top eight in Australia had to play a qualifying tournament against each other. It is never easy to come through but I am very happy I did and in first position for Australia.” Heming Hu
A leadership role awaits from Heming Hu, it is one he will relish.
