Impressively in the Junior Boys’ Singles final Yu Heyi accounted for Chinese Taipei’s Feng Yi-Hsin (11-6), 11-4, 11-3, 15-13), having in the penultimate round beaten colleague Xiang Peng (11-6, 8-11, 13-11, 11-5, 11-8), the quarter-final winner in opposition to Xu Haidong, the top seed and also from China (9-11, 11-7, 12-10, 11-7, 11-9).
In the opposite half of the draw in the penultimate round, Feng Yi-Hsin had prevented an all-Chinese final; he ended the progress of Xu Yingbin a quite titanic seven games duel (11-13, 11-8, 13-15, 5-11, 11-7, 15-13, 11-8).
Similarly, in the Junior Girls’ Singles event, an all-Chinese final was prevented. Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz was the player to shine.
At the semi-final stage she beat Shi Xunyao, the top seed (4-11, 12-10, 3-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-9) before experiencing defeat at the hands of Zhang Binyue (10-12, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7, 8-11, 11-7); in the opposite semi-final Zhang Binyue had overcome compatriot Yang Yiyun (11-5, 9-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 11-9).
Defeat for Shi Xunyao in the Junior Girls’ Singles quarter-finals; in the Junior Girls’ Doubles competition it was success; partnering Sun Yizhen, the duo accounted for the combination of Chinese Taipei’s Cai Fong-En and Hong Kong’s Chau Wing Sze (11-6, 11-9, 11-5).
Imposing from Sun Xinyao and Sun Yizhen, it was the same from Xu Xingbin and Yu Heyi in the Junior Boys’ Doubles final; they beat colleagues Xiang Peng and Kuang Li at the final hurdle (11-6, 10-12, 11-7 11-6).
