Having nearly 20 years of experience in table tennis rubber production, Herweg brings with her extensive amount of relevant experience and technical knowledge in table tennis equipment to be the best candidate for the task.
Excited to welcome Herweg as part of the ITTF family, ITTF CEO Steve Dainton stated “It’s with great pleasure to have Claudia joining our team. Claudia brings a wealth of experience to the ITTF with many years working on the manufacturer side of the sport. Understanding both the business aspect and the manufacturing areas will play an important role in the further professionalisation of the ITTF in this ever so important area. We wish her the best of luck in this exciting and challenging role.”
On her new challenge, Herweg stated “I believe that the joy on table tennis has a lot to do with a well working equipment system. Ball, table and racket are operating together, regardless whether it´s hobby, competition, or professional table tennis. The technical progress in the world of rubbers & blades creates a variety that each player can find his/her perfect racket. For me this is a part of the magic in table tennis. I will do my best to work on good solutions for all participants in our wonderful sport.”
Herweg will be working closely with the ITTF Equipment Committee, Executive Committee, other ITTF staff and table tennis equipment manufacturers to coordinate and manage tasks related to equipment in her new role.
