Each event played on a group basis, Kim Seongok and Lee Kunwoo maintained their perfect record by posting a two-nil win against Macao’s U Choi Hong and Lam Oi Man in their concluding fixture.
Defeat for U Choi Hong and Lam Oi Man but it was their only defeat; they reserved second place ahead of the Kazakhstan trio comprising Assel Gazizova, Raushan Orybbayeva and Zhuldyz Yerubayeva. Iraq’s Suhai Abdulameer Al-Jannat and Zainab Hasan Farttoosi finished in fourth position.
Likewise, a group organised event witnessed success for Ng Mui Wui, Wong Ka Man and Li Hui Tung.
Similar to Kim Seongok and Lee Kunwoo, two-nil victory margins were recorded in each engagement.
The Hong Kong outfit completed their itinerary ahead of Indonesia’s Ana Widyasari and Lola Amalia; Japan’s Nanako Hazeyama, Yumi Ono and Harumi Kimura finished in third position, fourth place was the lot of Macao’s Choi Hok Lo and Mok Nui Yan.
Meanwhile, in the remaining Women’s Team events, the top seeds are very much on course for gold.
In Class 2-5, China’s Zhou Ying and Zhang Bian remain unbeaten in a group organised event, whilst in Class 8-10, a competition with two groups in the initial phase, also from China, Xiong Guiyan and Fan Lei, concluded matters in pole position. The only surprise of note being that in the corresponding group Chinese Taipei’s Lin Tzu-Yu and Tian Siau-Wen remained unbeaten to secure top spot ahead of China’s Mao Jingdian, Wang Rui and Huang Wenjuan, the no.2 seeds.
Play in Jakarta concludes on Saturday 13th October.
