Jeremy Cedeño accounted for colleague, Diego Piguave to win the Under 11 Boys’ Singles title (11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5), after at the semi-final stage having accounted for Puerto Rico’s Oscar Birriel (11-6, 11-9, 11-8); in the opposite half of the draw, in the penultimate round, Diego Piguave had ended the hopes of Colombia’s Federico Otalvaro (11-5, 11-8, 11-8).

Gold and silver for Ecuador, in the Under 11 Girls’ Singles competition, it was all three colours. After accounting for Peru’s Karla Mendoza in the semi-final round (11-6, 11-2, 16-18, 11-5), Fiorella Olaya recovered from a two games to nil deficit to beat compatriot Maria Borja (6-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-6). In the corresponding penultimate round contest Maria Borja had ousted Angelica Arellano, also from Ecuador.

Meanwhile, in the Under 11 Boys’ Singles event, Joshua Robayo and Juan Gonzalez flew the flag for Ecuador, both secured bronze medals. At the semi-final stage, the host nation ended ambitions. Juan Gonzalez lost to Ramon Vila (11-6, 13-11, 11-4), Joshua Robayo experienced defeat at the hands Rafael Cabrera (11-3, 11-7, 11-5), the champion elect. He accounted for Ramon Vila in straight games (11-4, 11-9, 11-4) to seal the title.

Success for Ecuador, in the Under 13 Girls’ Singles event, there was success for Puerto Rico, likewise they secured gold, silver and bronze. Edmarie Leon beat Kristal Melendez at the final hurdle (4-11, 11-9, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9), after in the penultimate round having accounted for Peru’s Mariagracia La Torre; in the opposite half of the draw, Kristal Melendez had beaten colleague Daymar Castro.

A successful tournament completed; 49 players competed in the Under 13 Boys’ Singles event, 38 in the counterpart Under 13 Girls’ Singles competition, the Under 11 Boys’ Singles there were 44 entrants, the total 42 in number for the Under 11 Girls’ Singles.
