It is an open invitation. Therefore not all applications may be accepted. Furthermore only nominations submitted by bona fide national associations will be considered. Selection will be based on geographical boundaries with gender equality also taken into consideration.
National associations may submit a maximum of two nominations. However, if one of the umpires designated is female, a national association may also name a further Blue Badge qualified umpire.
Full hospitality will be provided from lunch on Saturday 20th April to breakfast on either Friday 26th April or Monday 29th April depending on selection.
Each umpire will receive a daily allowance per competition day, according to ITTF regulations.
All invited umpires must organize their own transport to the region as well as travel and medical insurance. However, travel arrangements should not be made until final selection is advised. In addition, all invited umpires are responsible for early arrival and late departure.
Should a nominated umpire require a visa, kindly send relevant details when submitting the nomination (full name as in passport, date of birth, place of birth, passport number, expiry date of passport). A letter of invitation will be provided. Please note that all costs associated with the visa application are the responsibility of the applicant and the issuance of a visa is at the sole discretion of the relevant Consulate or Embassy.
Umpires must wear the International umpiring uniforms as advised
The closing date for nominations is Monday 11th February. The list of umpires accepted will be advised on or before Wednesday 20th February.
All selected umpires must arrive no later than Saturday 20th April in order to attend a meeting with the Referee.
