Notably Guyana in situated on the north east coast of South America; however, throughout history the country has always been linked culturally with the Caribbean.
The full range of events will be staged – Men’s Team, Women’s Team, Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles – in addition Under 21 Men’s Singles and Under 21 Women’s Singles events for players born on or after Thursday 1st June 1998 will be held, as well as Men’s Singles Over 45 Years and Women’s Singles Over 45 Years for players born before Thursday 1st January 1974.
Depending on entries, the singles events will be played in two stages, a group phase followed by knock-out; matches will be best of five games until the quarter-finals when they become the best of seven games.
Similarly, the Men’s Team and Women’s Team events will be played in two stages, the current system used at the World Championships being adopted, all matches being best of five games. Likewise all doubles events will be best of five games, the knock-out principle from start to finish being adopted.
Eight table tennis tables will be used plus three practice tables, the equipment sponsors being Stag and Raise.
Deadline for preliminary entries is Monday 21st January, final confirmation by Friday 15th February; the draw will take place on Saturday 9th March.
