Venue for the occasion will be the Danubius Hotel Flamenco, a four star hotel which most certainly meets all the requirements.
Recently on Tuesday 12th February, Professor Miran Kondric, Chair of the ITTF Sports Science and Medical Committee visited the premises to be used for the gathering alongside Dr. David Paar from the University of Pecs and the Hungarian Table Tennis Association’s Gabor Felegyi. In addition Jozsef Unger was present from Pannonsport Ltd., as was Levente Gal and Vida Ibolya from the Danubius Hotel.
“After having staged very successful events in Suzhou and Düsseldorf, we expect another breakthrough here in Budapest. The venue is very comfortable and participants will enjoy some of the well-known Hungarian hospitality. We await more than 100 participants from all over the world and would like to continue with our goal to promote table tennis sports science on a higher level. The last two events have been included in Web of Science which is the most important goal we have achieved to date. Today’s inspection was organized to promote the Congress on one side and to discuss additional possibilities which would provide participants easier communication and networking on further activities after the Congress.” Professor Miran Kondric
The initiative of the late Ichiro Ogimura, former President of the International Table Tennis Federation and Zarko Dolinar, in the present era it is impossible to find a sport which cannot advance without sports science and medicine.
“Of course we immediately agreed on co-operation since we also need to promote the education of Hungarian table tennis coaches. Bordering sciences are as much important as table tennis techniques and tactics; with co-organizing this Congress we see lot of opportunities to attract our PhD students to research the field of table tennis and promote sports science among table tennis coaches and players. We have very good co-operation with the Hungarian Table Tennis Association and hope that this Congress will be a new start in the search for research projects which will lead to healthier and injury free development of table tennis.” Dr. David Paar.
Kindly note, there is still time to register for the Congress since abstract submission has been postponed until March 8th, 2019.
