Now, heading to the Liebherr 2019 World Championships in Budapest; Sathiyan Gnanasekaran is in the right frame of mind and body for the test that lays ahead in the Hungarian capital city.
“I am really excited; the World Championships in Budapest will be my fourth worlds. I am well prepared, I have had good training in Chennai with my personal coach Raman; we have tournaments in Oman and Qatar as well as also a small training stint in Denmark before the Worlds.” Sathiyan Gnanasekaran
Most certainly, guided by the experienced Raman Subramanian, successful at several Commonwealth Championships, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, an engineering graduate at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering in Chennai, is not leaving any stone unturned.
“I think I am well prepared for the tournament. It will be great if I can play my best table tennis. I am aiming to reach the top 16. The World Championships is the biggest tournament for any athlete after the Olympic Games and it is always special to play on the big stage representing your country. I am eagerly looking forward to putting up a great show. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran.
Notably Sathiyan Gnanasekaran was crucial to the success enjoyed by India in 2018 in the men’s team gold medal win at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and bronze medal success at the Asian Games.
