Dr. Casl made the best possible start in the 2nd leg with Fu Yu and Doo Hoi Kem putting the hosts 2-0 up with terrific outings against Matilda Ekholm (6-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-9) and Georgina Pota (12-14, 4-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-7).
Shan Xiaona brought TTC Berlin Eastside back into the match with her straight games victory over fellow penhold grip player Ni Xia Lian (11-8, 11-9, 11-8) but there was to be no comeback for the visitors as Fu Yu beat Georgina Pota (11-6, 3-11, 11-6, 10-12, 15-13) to compete her brace and send Dr. Casl through.
In the other semi-final KTS Enea Siarka Tarnobrzeg once again produced a 3-1 win over Linz AG Froschberg, sealing their spot in the final in front of the home crowd in Poland.
Han Ying was the key player in the 2nd leg, registering victories over Linda Bergström (11-4, 11-7, 11-1) and Sofia Polcanova (11-5, 11-6, 7-11, 11-7) in the opening and closing fixtures of the match, adding to Li Qian’s strong display against Soo Wai Yam Minnie (11-5, 13-11, 12-10).
Linz AG Froschberg didn’t leave empty-handed with Sofia Polcanova beating Gu Rouchen across four games (13-15, 11-4, 11-5, 11-7) but it proved little more than a consolation win for the visitors who exited the competition at the penultimate hurdle.
