Realistic, Farah Abdel-Aziz is both eager to compete as well as to experience what is a very special sporting occasion; for her exciting and what will prove memorable times lay ahead.
“The World Championships have a totally different experience in terms of its organization, as players across the world converge in a place to compete in a single tournament. It is the biggest tournament in table tennis, as lot of players compete in a single place. It is at this tournament you see different styles and different kinds of rubbers being used; even different personalities in the sport, so I think it’s the closest tournament to my heart. Notably Farah Abdel-Aziz is one of the players that has featured at a World Junior Championships and at a World Championships; she is well aware of the qualities needed and the preparation required. She believes the just concluded Seamaster ITTF Challenge Plus Oman Open has been good preparation for the entire Egyptian team.
“I hope I can make it to the main draw and go further by winning my first match to at least and play in the second round. It is my target in Budapest and I am working towards it, although I know it is a tall order considering the quality of players coming to Hungary. However, I will do my best to give a good performance.” Farah Abdel-Aziz
Currently on the women’s world rankings, Farah Abdel-Aziz is named at no.159; a major challenge awaits in Budapest.
