At 3.00 pm on a most memorable day, a total of 82 enthusiasts including players, coaches and officials were present in very pleasant surroundings.
“A seaside resort Vung Tau draws many visitors from the region. We were able to view sunrise at 5.30 am and sunset at 5.30 pm on each day, in addition to the tasty foods and Vietnam coffee!“ Christina Chee
The principal venue for the landmark occasion was the Sports and Cultural Centre of Vietsovpetro; as with the ITTF/PTT Level One course and training camp, locally matters were organised by the Vietnam Olympic Committee in conjunction with the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation and the Ba Ria Vung Tau Provincial Table Tennis Federation.
Notably, Tran Gia Thai, President of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation attended, alongside Tran Canh Tuan, Vice President and Phan Anh Tuan, Secretary General, in addition to a host of officials from the local Ba Ria Vung Tau Table Tennis Federation.
Undoubtedly a most successful venture, smiles abounded from the young and the not so young.
Coach education, a training camp which introduced children, many of whom had not reached their teenage years, to the sport of table tennis plus was a most praiseworthy venture, World Table Tennis Day added the important element of fun. Once again the attraction of table tennis, the sport for all; the sport for life rang true, the sport everyone can play.
Both educational and enjoyable times were experienced in Vung Tau City.
