The case to promote solidarity through the sport of table tennis was given a new inspiration as Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) donated SGD2,000 to TableTennisUnited (TTU), a unique campaign from the ITTF Foundation.
The STTA has long supported the ITTF Foundation and its campaigns and this was another move in the right direction from them, as they boosted the importance of working together in these tough times.
Ellen Lee, the president of STTA, has been outspoken regarding the need for such a contribution to help everyone in need through our sport’s solidarity:
“ The table tennis family is severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and this fund raising initiative #TableTennisUnited campaign spearheaded by ITTF is indeed valuable and necessary. We are grateful for ITTF’s vision and feel strongly compelled to help support your good cause. The Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) hopes that our small donation will be of assistance towards your good cause to support the athletes, coaches, umpires, national associations and field projects who are all in need of a helping hand in these difficult times. We are confident that your efforts are greatly appreciated not only by me but by many members of the table tennis fraternity. Thank you for your courage and vision. Please keep up the good work’’ Ellen Lee, President, Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA)
Everyone at the International Table Tennis Federation and ITTF Foundation thanks Ellen and the entire Singapore Table Tennis Association for their generous act, and are sure this contribution will prove a very important step in aiding the #TableTennisUnited campaign achieve its goals.
