Eduard Ionescu has pulled off a miraculous escape to keep is Paris dreams alive. From 0-3 down, the Romanian saved a total of 6 match points to defeat Quadri Aruna 4-3 (8-11, 9-11, 6-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-9, 13-11). Moments later on the adjacent table, it was Alberto Mino’s turn to close out a comeback. The Ecuadorian posted four straight games against Finn Luu, securing his round of 32 berth 4-3 (9-11 ,9-11, 9-11. 11-9, 11-7, 11-4, 11-8).

Samara Survives Epic Battle, Eerland Makes a Dream Start

Amy Wang Makes Strong Olympic Debut

Amy Wang, the reigning two-time U.S. Open Women’s Singles champion, has made a strong start to her Olympic campaign. The American overcame a valiant effort from Vanuatu’s Priscilla Tommy, securing a 4-0 victory. Wang’s composure and skill were evident throughout the match, setting the tone for a promising Olympic run. She will face either Adriana Diaz or Izabela Lupulescu in the next round.
