The French men’s team has secured their place in the semifinals with a convincing 3-0 victory over Brazil. Simon Gauzy and Alexis Lebrun delivered a strong performance, defeating Guilherme Teodoro and Vitor Ishiy 3-0 in the doubles match. Felix Lebrun, fresh from his singles bronze medal win over Hugo Calderano, continued the momentum with a 3-1 victory over the Brazilian again. Alexis Lebrun then sealed the deal with a 3-1 win over Vitor Ishiy. The French team, buoyed by the home crowd, will now face a tough test against China in the semifinals.


China Dominates as they Reach Semifinals

Top seeds China has continued their dominance in the women’s team event, securing a place in the semi-finals with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei. Chen Meng and Wang Manyu proved unstoppable, defeating Chen Szu-Yu and Chien Tung-Chuan 3-0 in the opening doubles match. World number one Sun Yingsha extended their lead with a 3-0 victory over Cheng I-Ching, before Wang Manyu completed the sweep with another 3-0 win over Chien Tung-Chuan. China’s journey towards a potential gold medal continues, with Korea Republic next for China.

The battle for a place in the semifinals intensifies as the quarter-finals get underway. On one side of the arena, Brazil will face a stern test against the home crowd favorites, France. The atmosphere is expected to be electric as the two nations clash. Meanwhile, in the last women’s event quarterfinal, top seeds China will be looking to maintain their dominance against Chinese Taipei.


Kaufmann and Germany Ends India Women’s Dream Run

Germany has ended India’s impressive Olympic campaign, defeating the Asian nation 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the women’s team event. Yuan Wan and Xiaona Shan gave Germany a strong start with a 3-1 victory over Sreeja Akula and Archana Girish Kamath in the doubles match. Annett Kaufmann continued the momentum with a stunning upset, winning 3-1 over Manika Batra, putting Germany in a commanding position. Archana Girish Kamath pulled one back for India with a 3-1 victory over Xiaona Shan, but Kaufmann who proved to be the difference-maker against their Round of 16 tie against USA, did it once again, securing a 3-0 win over Sreeja Akula to send Germany through to the semifinals. The 18-year-old Kaufmann has been the standout performer for Germany, delivering crucial victories for her team, and together with the team, they will now face strong medal contenders, Japan.


China Dominates Korea Republic, Advances to Semifinals

China has secured their place in the men’s team semifinals with a commanding 3-0 victory over Korea Republic. Ma Long and Wang Chuqin set the tone with a dominant 3-0 win over Cho Daeseong and Jang Woojin. Olympic champion Fan Zhendong extended the lead with a 3-1 victory over Lim Jonghoon, before Wang Chuqin sealed the deal with a 3-1 win over Jang Woojin. China’s dominance was on full display as they booked their spot in the next round and wait to find out if they play host nation France or Brazil.


Day 12: Team Event heats up as we edge closer to medal day

We start day 12 with some quarterfinal action here in South Paris Arena. In the men’s event, Korea Republic will face China for a spot in the semifinals, while in the women’s event India’s historic team will battle it out against the Germany to get a chance to medal in Paris. These matches promise to be thrilling encounters as teams fight for a place in the semi-finals.
