The doubles events at the ITTF World Youth Championships in Helsingborg produced a day of contrasting finals, featuring both nail-biting encounters and commanding performances.
The Under-19 Boys’ Doubles final provided the day’s most dramatic moments, with China’s Wen and Huang emerging victorious in a thrilling five-game battle against Korea Republic’s Kim and Japan’s Yoshiyama. The match swung back and forth before the Chinese pair finally secured a 3-2 victory (11-2, 7-11, 11-5, 1-11, 11-9), with the final game keeping spectators on the edge of their seats until the last point.
In the Under-19 Girls’ Doubles, China’s Zong and Qin displayed exceptional coordination to overcome Japan’s talents of Mende and Takamori. Despite strong resistance from their opponents, the Chinese pair secured a 3-1 victory (11-8, 12-10, 3-11, 11-4).
The Under-15 events saw dominant displays from China in both categories. In the Boys’ Doubles, Li and Tang proved too strong for Otalvaro and Faso, claiming a convincing 3-0 victory (11-8, 11-0, 11-7). Similarly, in the Girls’ Doubles, Wu and Chen maintained their composure throughout to secure a straight-games win against Korea Republic’s Choi and Heo, 3-0 (12-10, 11-7, 11-4).
